Events at Brooklands Museum

New Year's Day Gathering

Wednesday, January 1, 2014
All classic, vintage and veteran cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles are welcome for possibly the largest New Year’s Day gathering in the South East!  Entry is via the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road for pre-1973 vehicles and pre-booked car clubs.

Gates open at 9am and the Museum buildings and displays are open from 10am - 4pm; normal Museum admission prices apply for those in non-classic vehicles.

I have approached the Brooklands Museum organisers to request a Lancia pitch, if you would like to attend, please let me know so that I can request a suitable size spot for us on the 1st.

Thanks,

Neil

Brooklands update: we have been allocated a space of 10 cars behind the hangar on the finishing straight, in the usual location.   Hopefully we can fill the space see you on the 1st!

Being that Surrey is one of the areas affected by the bad weather, and with Byfleet featuring on the news as being hit with flooding, any idea what the situation is with Brooklands, as it also has a river adjacent to the site and the event is less than a week away?

Flooding update from the Brooklands Museum website below. Obviously we'll need to check the website at http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/ the day before or even on the day before setting off.

It didn’t rain as much as the Met office was predicting in Surrey and South London last night although it was a bit windy, so hopefully it should be OK for NYD. I am hoping to get there early, weather permitting.

Theo & Jay,
Thanks for the update.
I probably shan't make it until about 10.30am as I have to drop my dogs off at my daughters place first so save me a place please.

Today's update below. It seems it'll be OK for the NYD gathering.

We are going, even if its raining. In my view, Brooklands deserves the support.

It was very wet. But not enough to keep Brian and a few other Lancia owners away.

The weather forecast was spot on - it was awful!  But nice to catch up with people whilst sheltering from the elements.
