Hi Derek,
Yes the owner was pointed in my direction by Paul Baker after a local garage recommended he contact Paul.
I had quite a conversation with him a few months ago and from what he told me and from the photos it's a genuine car, he was concerned about the oil pressure gauge dropping so low on tickover, as all of us Fulvia owners know is nothing unusual and if it picks up when you rev the engine it's ok, however he was still concerned even after I tried to reassure him, as all his other cars don't react in the same way, so perhaps this is in the back of his mind.
He hasn't actually had it very long and his first contact with me was at the end of July, and it came from the St Neots Area, it's previous owner wasn't an LMC Member.
I have already checked the Chassis Number and currently it isn't Historic as it was Built in 1972, but I believe it will be eligible next year.
I think it's one well worth buying but it's strong money for a series 2 even though Berlinas prices are picking up a bit, but that's for a prospective purchaser to decide.
To be honest I'd quite like it myself but I'm not likely to buy it unless I sell "Fay", and that isn't going to happen.
One thing I would do though is bin those Coupe wheels, I don't think it does anything for the appearance and IMHO Berlinas look much better on the original steel wheels with hubcaps, I'd also like to see it with the original steering wheel as well.
If anyone wants any further details please pm me.
