Hi, I have just bought a new master cylinder and have an issue with the threads of the brake lines. I used a mobile mechanic to help connect this up and after wrecking the fittings supplied, tried to fit modern ones and made a real mess of the threads.
I would like to try to re-fit the correct threaded brake pipe fittings but cannot find the correct size.
Can anyone give me the size and where I could buy some?
Thanks,
M

Brake fittings come in inch - A/F or, if old enough, BSF - or metric.  Fulvia are likely to be metric (!) and any decent motor factor will be able to supply proper fittings.  Take the cylinder with you if you do not have the tools to measure the diameter and a thread gauge.   It will be worth going to a decent tool shop to get a die to clean up the threads as well or nothing will fit, but make sure it is the correct one!

When refitting the master cylinder, first refit the brake lines to the cylinder and then the cylinder to the bulkhead, Andrea

Fulvia brake line fittings are metric, but I forget which size and pitch. I suggest you try 'Think Automotive' in Isleworth, west London: http://www.thinkauto.com/ . I found them to be very helpful and well stocked.

Cheers Colin, sorted now. Bought a set of new fittings that fit. Now just to have the master cylinder retapped.
