'74 Fulvia 1.3S

Hi all, this is my first post here since I bought my 1974 Fulvia 1.3S coupe last September. 

I've been slowly sorting out a few issues but I'd like to ask a question regarding my seats.  I find getting a comfortable seat position difficult, with very little support at the front edge of the seat, I seem to be inclined forwards.  I know the seat foams on the seat base around the edge may need to be renewed but I wondered if the seat runners should be inclined upwards at the front compared to the rear? 

The runners are horizontal front to back. The top edge of the seat is approx 250mm from the floor and the seat base is approx 420mm from the bottom edge of the seat back to the front edge of the seat base.  I have put a small block of wood (~10mm) under the front part of the seat where the base fits into.  Do these measurements seem right?  I hope this makes sense!

I think the HF sests may be raised at the front?

The HF is different to a 1300, in that it has special frames, that are welded to the floor, and the HF seats are completely different, the frame on the HF is higher at the front than the rear. I always thought that 1300 seat runners run parallel to the floor, but I could be wrong

I would suggest that before you start altering the angle of the runners you attend to the seat padding first and see where you go from there, not surprising if the padding does need replacing, after all it is 40 years old!

The seat runners are parallel on a 1.3. Could be the webbing/springing in base has given up.

Thanks for the advice everyone.  The seats were reupholstered in leather about 5 years ago by a previous owner but it's possible the foams weren't replaced.  Looking at a cutaway drawing of a Fulvia Sport Zagato the height given from the floor to top of the seat base is 300mm, that's a big difference to mine, although mine is a coupe and may be different.

Sounds like the padding. I had standard seats in my 1.3S for years and never had the feeling that I was inclined forwards.
