Exactly Tim, which brings me back to my original question .... will the flying club be open for lunch ??
[/quote]
Martin you owe me a beer.. A simple google says the aero club cafe is open all year round and a quick call confirmed they are open on Saturday.
For those wishing to reserve a table.....please call 01243 755167
Tim

Brian and Tim, Thank you, yes, I know it is generally open, but a few years ago we were caught out as it was closed for a private function and I spent over an hour driving around trying to find a sandwich whilst you lot had your BSE on toast. I asked the question here for general information to all.
However, Mr Chairman has also confirmed that it's open so enough about the luncheon facilities.
See you on Sat.

The flying club buildings (Drivers Club at the Revival) at Goodwood are currently being completely redeveloped to a fairly radical new design with viewing from the roof, lots of glass etc. Chris

Hang on Chris. So does that mean it is open for lunch or it is being redeveloped and presumably not open for lunch?

I cant tell you but at the 73rd Members Meeting in March it looked like a building site. There is a large article on its redevelopment in the new Goodwood magazine for GRRC Members which has just arrived which is why I mentioned it. The new building is an exciting design reminiscent of 50's and 60's 'glass buildings' design. The old control tower on the left as you enter the circuit is usually open for the Track day isn't it? And there is usually a food van. Sadly I cant attend as we have visitors but with the forecast good weather and lots of Lancias I am sure it will be great day. Chris

If somebody reads my post below it will say I have phoned the cafe (on behalf of Martin and the LMC) and they have said they are open....

Excellent day both on and off the track with a fantastic range of Lancias both driving flat out and posing in the paddock.
Thanks go to Brian and Linda Mills of organising and administrating on the day, to Jane Burrett who passed the hat round to visiting non driving participant and raised useful funds for the club, and Tony Harrison who spent a day taking photos (which if you want a DVD crammed with the day's action can be had for £15 including postage - profits going to LMC).
Roll on next year!

Enjoyable to a point but where were all the usual non participating Lancia and their owners? Granted there were some there, but the numbers and faces seemed to be considerably down on previous years. Brian 8227

Sorry not to have been at Goodwood! I was with you in spirit, but in body I was committed to a weekend event in Oxford.

My eldest had a sixth form event that needed a parent, my youngest needed looking after... However, as my "silver lining", while at Bluewater between visiting Build-a-Bear shop and Speedo, I got a call to say my starter motor (Strada Abarth) was ready. As such I would like to recommend "Bexley Starters" who quoted within an hour of the unit being dropped in and had it back to me not much more than 24hrs later, looking pristine, and with a lovely whiff of thinners to betray the fresh paint. http://www.bexleystarters.co.uk/While doing my research this place in Brixton was recommended and they also do rewinds: http://www.robsonandfrancisrewinds.co.uk/index.html
