Sunday 26th April is DRIVE IT DAY... what is it?
The Federation of British Historic Vehicles Club started this a few years ago to encourage its members and other historic vehicle enthusiasts to use yesterday's two, three, four or more wheeled vehicles to celebrate the UK's transport heritage. All owners of historic vehicles are encouraged to take to the roads on this day to demonstrate how many historic and interesting machines are still on the road today. This is especially important if rumours about government plans to restrict enjoyment of historic vehicles have merit.
So, in order to aid the cause, the LMC Hampshire bunch thought that it would be a great excuse for a Spring Lunch at our current watering hole: Cart & Horses in Kings Worthy (just outside Winchester). Credit goes to Pat Ure for coming up with the idea.
BUT, it's not just a 'Hampshire' or 'Lancia' lunch... any historic car, bike or trike is welcome, from near or far. A variety of new faces and interesting machinery is the order of the day
Afterwards it might also be nice to go in convoy to a nearby place of interest (TBC) taking in some lovely Hampshire country routes.
At this stage all I require is a virtual show of hands from people confirming interest in such a Sunday event. Please feel free to invite classic/ vintage petrol-heads with non-Lancias and even non-Italian cars
