I have a complete 1600 engine for my HF when I get around to building it and a few spares that I want to build up an engine for another project , main items I have are spare crank and all the bearings , spare block and pistons , I have cams oil pump tensioner carbs and inlet , possibly a distributer , sump but no crankcase rods or head .
Question as I am on expert on fulvia engines with regards to building them , I believe a 1600 has bigger main bearings than a 1300 , does anyone know if a 1300 crankcase could be line bored out to take a 1600 crank? , are the front and rear end casings the same between 1300 and 1600?
does anyone have any spare parts that may help build up the 2nd engine I have , its not a spare engine I do have something interesting that I want to put it in and feel if I'm going to do the conversion I may as well go the whole hog , also looking for a set of new standard 1600 pistons

I don't know why but I was always lead to believe they were bigger , big ends are bigger aren't they , I have a spare crank case (1300) so will have a measure up , if they are the same then could be a result!!!

Hmmm, so will it be a lovely little chassis with a mid-mounted engine which I would love to build if I had any engineering skills at all, or a F&M Special type thing..............

don't even go there! I actually hate going into my garage at home as she's sat there under a cover , unfortunately I just don't get the time these days to work on big projects of my own , they don't seem to pay the bills as well as paying customers!  Cheesy I will never sell it and really need to finish it , I have everything to do it except for time at the moment , it will rear its head at some point but at the moment I have 7 customers cars to do and 4 or 5 more on their way  ( i'm NOT complaining!! more stunned at how busy I've gone so quickly ). the big problem I've had has been staff recently which is more or less sorted now .the last 12 months has been an absolute nightmare so I have been working 7 days a week and on 24hr call out , this has not given me anytime to myself as I don't like letting customers down , fingers crossed I have 3 brilliant staff in the tyre depot now and 1 reliable member in restoration and one who unfortunately  still lets me down , fingers crossed I will have someone else with me on the resto work soon so I should be up to full speed again soon , joys of self employment !!!
