I want to respray my steel wheels on my 2c and have been looking at a German site, they only show one for series 1 HF  but can't confirm if this is the colour I need.
Do all series 1 steel wheels have the same colour?

Buttermilk is one colour isn't it? Will you have to take the tyres off though?. There used to be a paper masking device available to avoid overspray.

The two colours I've heard of being used for wheels are Rover Arum White and Ford Alpacca Beige.

When I did a trailer refurb I took the opportunity to do a test (Halfords rattle cans) and tried both. They were both very similar and both looked right.  From memory I liked the Arum as warmer and more creamy.

I recently managed to buy a pair of Fulvia 1216cc Coupe wheels which like the 2c don't have the trim ring mounting bosses, although the 2c wheel also has pegs on the inside for wheel weights, these look as though the original wheel weights had a hole in the centre, and the weights would have been placed over the peg and held with a circlip of some sort ( or so I presume), as these have never been used the 1216 wheels are ideal, the wheels are away at Pristine wheels at Woburn Sands being painted in primer for £20 a wheel, I did ask about having them colour matched and sprayed, but the quote of £55 per wheel put me off so I decided I topcoat them myself and then put new tyres on these, the other two wheels I'll just have to mask up.

Thank you David for your research ! I was considering the Rover Arum White so I think I'll run with that rather than take a chance on the Fulvia HF Colour

I think it was a Don Cross tip originally.

Thanks Ade,
I know that we'd had this conversation previously and I wrote the information down, but when I looked I couldn't find it, I hadn't realised it was that long ago, with circumstances being what they have been the last few years I just haven't got around with repainting them.

Brian, if you wanted to colour match them yourself you could try A.R.Davies at 1 Royston Road, Baldock. My son's old employers used them for custom paint colours.

Thanks Frank, I've ordered 1 400ml spray can of the Ford Alpaca Beige CT, if that's not near enough I'll try A.R.Davies.

I think I'm going to take one of my wheels to A.R Davies in Baldock Roll Eyes
I've just sprayed my two wheels and Alpacca is nothing like the colour of my wheels on "Fay", as it's a definite beige and far too creamy while my wheels are more of an off white, when she was restored in 1997-1999 the wheels were resprayed but I was given to understand that the spare was the original Colour and the other four were painted to match the spare.
OH well by the time I'm finished they'll be plenty of paint on them!
The spray can of Alpacca was 400ml, which was sufficient to give a decent coat on the inside face of the wheel, a decent coat over the tyre recess, and a couple of good coats on the face of the wheel, on both wheels, with a little left over.
Any thoughs on using a clear laquer over the paint on the wheels, as the pack I bought of Alpacca came with a tin of clear laquer?

Just to record it here also, the recommendation (for B20s) is:

Summer Beige, Nissan RF, 1994-2006, or Glasurit SM 003.50

I was interested in the comment near the end about a yellowish tone on a 60's Fulvia and it sounds like that's the colour Omicron matched.  Anyone know what the match to that might be?
