So,  has anyone ever attempted this method of removing or replacing Aurelia coil springs ?

I'm trying to figure out what era this photo is from, the two guys don't 'look' like yer average Aurelia enthusiast... plus the guy with spanner has a kind of Rick Parfitt from Status Quo look about him... and as for the other guy ??   Someone has to know who these guys are.. and if they are still with us !
