I bought a couple of third gear sets from John Vessey a year or two ago.  One set went in no problem but the layshaft gear on the other set does not fit - the holes for the pins are slightly too close to the centre.     Current Consortium maestri have not heard of this and do not know where the gears came from originally (???Oz).  Can anyone enlighten us please?
Otherwise, what are the chances of being able to enlarge the holes slightly to enable fitting? I presume the gears are case hardened?
