In an attempt to revive the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Area, I would like to invite LMC members to my local Classic and Enthusiast gathering at The John Fretwell Sports Centre, Sookholme Road, Mansfield, NG19 8LL. We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays from April to September, all welcome from 5pm onwards; barbecue food available from about 7pm, and lots of room for the kids to run amok, so bring the family too! The venue is about 1/4 mile off the A60 about three miles north of Mansfield, and is sign-posted from the A60 - we get an eclectic mix of cars, from diminutive Austin Seven to gargantuan Cadillac, and from pre-Great War Veteran to modern-day hot-rod.  The next meeting (our first of the year) will be on Tuesday 28th April - if there is any interest from the LMC, then we can look at starting our own meeting later in the year. A good idea and I am not so far away (just south of Derby) but until October 31st I work on Tuesdays and never leave before 7.30 or so . Next year I will be a man of leisure if the grandchildren allow it.

I've emailed Peter Fawcett who I bought my current Beta from. He lives in Sheffield and was asking about local meetings. He has a Series 3 Appia.

A reminder that the next meeting is this coming Tuesday (26th May); the forecast is looking good at the moment, so we should get another fine evening, this was the turn-out last time... and not a Lancia in sight!  |

A reminder that our next meeting is on Tuesday 14th July. We had two surprises at the last meeting: the first was an enormous 1930 Packard dual-cowl phaeton  ... and the second was four Lancias!  Left to right: Brian's Delta HF Turbo, Mario's Beta Volumex Coupe, Steve's Fulvia Coupe, and my little Appia. Can we better that this month? Probably not, as I shall be there, but not in the Appia; I shall be returning from another event with a different old car, so my Lancia will have to wait until the 28th for its next visit. |
