It wasn't just Lancias on the track either ... it was nice to see some other Lancias, and not just mine, parked with the vast array of other classics out in the 'car park' (aka the biggest and widest range of classic cars you're ever likely to witness!). Name a classic and it was probably there! Lamborghini Miura - two of them; Mercedes 300SL - four of them ... and that's just scratching the surface of the hundreds and hundreds of other classics parked row after row in a field whilst their owners enjoyed the action on circuit. A great day out!

I saw a B20 in the distance on its way to leave and quickened my step to catch a photo. Alas it was a fleeting glimpse at range and I thought to myself "don't see them too often" only to turn round and almost trip over another.

Wow! Isn't that just what this forum is all about! Thanks David for capturing the very essence of the Revival igniting the memories of years gone by - must do it next year Thanks too Louise for the race write up - I was in the car with you! And Chris too for flying the flag so admirably. Robin.

My friend on Saturday had what I call "British Museum Syndrome". I once took a cousin who stopped at the first exhibit, read all the text, gave it full consideration and moved on.
You HAVE to prioritise and its a heady atmosphere in which spotting what I thought was Lord March's personal Aurelia parked next to race control with the perfect "pit lane and flags" background I wouldn't spare the half a minute to take a photo of it as I wanted a coffee and to get right on the fence before Louise's race.

Thanks for the great photo`s and Lou Kennedy`s report. With regard to the missing 3rd Aurelia, it didn`t race due to a loss of compression at the Silverstone Classic, see photo`s if I can attach them. John.

That's a pretty car with the fins and waterfall headlights...
I hope the damage wasn't too extensive and its out early next year. VSCC Pomeroy Trophy?

The state of that piston and valve looks pretty extensive to me. Very bad luck. Or were you trying to beat the red line?

Hi David, I agree it`s a pretty car. Engine not stripped completely yet, so extent of damage not known. I don`t know of 2016 plans yet.
Hi Ben, I`m not the owner or driver so I don`t know how heavy the right foot was! It was a recent purchase before the Classic so engine strength/ quality unknown I suspect.

Nice looking car with a 2 litre engine? Some more photos would be good. What carburation does it have and how developed is the engine? Did it drop a valve I wonder. My 1st series B20 dropped a valve, comprehensively wrecked a piston and damaged the cylinder head on the M3 a few years ago but there was no damage to the bore so I was able to fit a new piston (which I already had) and repair the head. The reason for the problem - a poor batch of valve springs which tended to break so I replaced all the valve springs very shortly afterwards. No problems since. Chris

The mini was used to test wings.

More great photographs thank you David. Did you see the highlights on the box at 2100 this evening? Some excellent racing!

I saw the St Mary's race when everyone had gone to bed - only 45 mins recorded as someone stopped it flipping channels. Its on another couple of times over the next week. It was a really great race to watch live. We were after St Mary's and just before Lavant. I love the onboard shots showing just how hard they have to work to keep those Cortinas in a straight line - or at least progressing round the circuit.

More Aurelia photo`s. Chris, the offending valve head is embedded in the piston crown. We don`t know anything about the internals yet until it`s stripped and measured. John
