Had a trip to Norfolk yesterday to pick up some new S2/3 windscreens Omicron had been minding for us. Lovely part of the country and some super cars to look at but no Appias.

Hello, has anyone here bought an Appia exhaust or any other parts from Lancia Vintage or Old Lancia Parts (both in Italy).  If so, were you happy with the quality and delivery times?

Grazie tanto!

Do you need a front pipe? (from manifold flange) I am recommisioning a S2 Appia and bought one but the old one has been welded so expertly I do not think I could get it off without an industrial chainsaw so best leave it in place. What I paid for it -20%.

Hi all
The good news is the exam marking is finished so I can get back to the serious stuff...watching football on TV! Just to let you all know I will be at the AGM on the Sunday with the Consortium tent so don't be shy and come and meet up with some like minded enthusiasts. I will bring a collection of consumables air filters, dizzy caps, points etc but if you need something else get in touch and I can bring it down. I am already bring down some exhaust parts for GC. I will be posting some pictures later of a selection of new spares we have received from Italy.

Hi. New UK club member but long time lancia owner. Could you please give me details on how to join the consortium. I have been sourcing parts from Italy for a few years, but the shipping times vary too much, and my Italian is atrocious.
Regards
John Tynan.

Hi all
I will be at the AGM with a collection of parts if you are desperate get in touch and I will try to bring the part to the AGM on Sunday. Finally with the marking over and a bit of dry weather I took the tarpaulin off the S2 we have and thought "I bet this little scamp will start" so a few litres of petrol in the tank a spare battery connected and nothing it just turned over. So plan B a squirt of bradex in the carb and it started and then stopped when the bradex ran out. So plan C spin it over more and it started and ran well enough to push the choke in till it was on a fast tickover with the oil pressure gauge on 25. The having long thought the clutch pedal was just connected to fresh air it was so light I thought will it move under it's own power. Sure enough a few inches in first and then back again in reverse a result, as it has no brakes I refrained from giving it a few laps of the Unit circuit but might consider a few figure of eights in the carpark. This is promising as I will be putting the car up for sale soon and a runner is always good.

No takers for the S2 so will probably break the car.

I think there is no appetite for mammoth resto projects like that. The car could be fabulous once done but the value afterwards would be a fraction of the cost of doing it. I think breaking is the only option and hopfully drip feed the consortium funds over time.

Hi all
With my recycling hat on I have been looking at various spare parts we have in abundance and ways they can be broken down into their constituent metals. For example the front drums of the later cars have an aluminium body, cast iron linings and a steel hub and bearings. The plan was to strip the hub out and remove the cast iron lining leaving a fairly big chunk of aluminium to recycle (we have at least a dozen drums like this) however the construction is of such a sturdy design it took me a day to break one down to the valuable parts. The hub came off easily after removing the threaded ring and wire spring from the inside along with the mounting bolts. The removal of the cast iron lining involved using a jigsaw with a decent blade and cutting across the lining in two places allowing the two hals to be drifted out from the outside. The removal of the cast iron liner revealed it had cutouts all the way round to receive steel pegs tapped in from the outside to stop the liner rotating inside the drum. As any steel in with the aluminium effects it's value I set about getting the pegs out but after getting about 6 out I whacked my thumb and gave up! However we did manage to press out some gudgeon pins and some main bearings from their carriers so not a bad day.
