Although I had closed bookings for this years event a couple of rooms (twin or double) have come available due to unforeseen circumstances.

FEARRR2018 Event Information

Friday Afternoon (After 11.30am)
The event starts at 11.30am at Colchester Castle on Friday afternoon. We have privileged parking around the Colchester War Memorial at the top of the High Street (51° 53' 22.88" N, 0° 54' 13.40" E) from 11.30am till 4.30pm - time to visit Colchester Castle and FirstSite Art Centre etc and take lunch in one of the many eateries or bring a picnic.
Road books will give a tulip navigation observation test run to our base at the Kingscliff Hotel Holland on Sea.
Friday Evening
Italian Themed supper served at 7.30
Saturday
Observation run by Tulip to a coffee stop at Beth Chatto Gardens. We leave for Thorrington for Lunch via the ancient town of Wivenhoe, again by tulip navigation.
After lunch via tulip map to The Naze. A visit to the Tower has been arranged at a group rate of £2.50pp. Tea (or Coffee) and Cake for £3.00pp. Return by tulip navigation to the hotel from the Naze to Kingscliff Hotel via Frinton
Saturday evening Italian themed gala dinner starts at 7.30pm with a prosecco/juice welcome drink.
Sunday
Breakfast from 8am. Leave the Hotel by 9.45 am and drive by Tulip to coffee in Dedham. This should take around 45minutes. There are a couple of nice coffee shops in the centre of the village. We pass through Manningtree and you may wish to stop for a coffee but there is limited choice as both cafes are shut on Sunday! Then onto Fordham for lunch again by tulip navigation.
After lunch – goodbyes and safe trip home.
Total cost £375 for two people sharing a room hotel Dinner Bed and Breakfast, and the lunches on Saturday and Sunday, road book and rally plaque.
It’s a fun way to exercise your Lancia and have a very social weekend with like minded car folk.
While predominantly Flaminia (yes we may have one) Flavia and Fulvia, other Lancias are more than welcome.
Email me before 20 August if interested.

Thanks

Tim Heath

PS FFFEAR2017 was awarded the Maclaggen Spring at this year's Annual General Meeting for the best organised event, so thanks to all for your support!

Dear Tim and Sarah, thank you very much for a very enjoyable weekend even though we were useless with regard to your Observation Challenges, it did not spoil a well organised event. A good venue with very friendly staff, fine food and interesting places to see.
We understand if you need a break, but hope it is not the last event you ever organise, Chris and Jan

Agree completely with Chris. Despite the poor weather it was one of the most enjoyable events we have attended. A very good choice of venues although I do not think we have eaten so much good food in such a short time.

Brian - did you take the Flavia Sport?   Any photos?   Hope not too tiresome a slog home, or had the weather improved by then?

Sport water loss problem sorted(ish).
Borrowed a super bit of kit which fits on the rad filler and is pressurised. Initially nothing seen with engine not turning.
Started up and water pressure rose to 11psi and stayed there but when really warm water started dripping quite heavily from around the back of the water pump somewhere so looks like a new short hose and perhaps Barleaks. ?take off waterpump and overhaul.
I sort of had hoped it was a head gasket as I am putting on new heads with new valve guides and valves to stop my smoking exhaust!
I haven't looked at workshop manual yet but I would guess radiator out is best for access.
I reckon I lose about a pint per 100mls.

I chucked some barsleak into my modern about a month ago because the radiator had a weep and I haven't got round to fitting a replacement yet. It is holding the water perfectly and reminds me why I always have some in my emergency kit.
