Uh-oh. The clutch has started to slip on the Ypsilon. 39k on the odometer.

I can think of 3 reasons:
1. Poor quality of clutch fitted originally
2. The car had a hard life in her first 12 months as a demonstrator
3. Too much boy racer driving on my part

Naturally, number 3 is right out. I did all my excessive acceleration in the Dedra, which tended to speed up quite nicely when you pressed the fast pedal. Number 1 is surely unlikely in this modern era? Even if it was sub-standard, it's hard to prove and waaaaay out of warranty. So that leaves number 2. I want confessions from those of you who borrowed this car and had far too much fun in your 48 hours. Usual e-mail address. All guilty parties' details will be kept confidential. Promise.  Smiley

OK, no confessions yet, but there's still time. The car's booked in next Wednesday. Anyone want to have a guess what the local Fiat dealer will charge to fit a new clutch...? Closest guess wins a drink at the AGM.

My first guess would have been in line with Geoff's. Every Lancia bill seems to be somewhere between £400 and £499 somehow. I'm sure it's a conspiracy!

Well, we'll find the truth tomorrow...

*** Bizarre update ***

The dealer's just phoned me to say they have a customer trying to source "the same car as you have" and wanted to know if I wanted to trade in...! (Anyone on here?)
