Post by: ITSA on 10 April, 2015, 09:38:16 PM
"One family ownership since 1987, unused since 2002 , kept in heated garage and only 18000 miles on clock." Reg D41FTP

No connection to car or seller but I thought it might interest Lancisti on here.

Lot of money but where would you find another in this condition and low mileage, same colour as my HF Turbo was.
Andy, are you tempted ;D

Ha! If I didn't already have two I'd be giving it serious consideration...

I wonder what the power steering came odd of.
Looks nice but I don't remember the tailpipe sticking out like that.

Think Power steering was an option but mine does not have it (nor alloy wheels - french market car....). My Prisma Symbol also does not have power steering, and yes the rear tail pipe looks odd. It is difficult to get extra length as the rear box is (should be) flange mounted onto the center section.

Anyone want a rust free Prisma GTie (Symbol) for half the money?

"1987 Lancia Delta GT i.e.
Reg: D41 FTP
Chassis No. ZLA831AB000361682
Engine No.658285
Mileage: 18860
Estimate: No Reserve

The Lancia Delta was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow in 1979. Production ran from 1979 until 1999. The Delta was most famous for dominating the World Rally Championship in the late 80s and early 90s. The Delta was face lifted in 1986 and a new GT i.e. variant was launched at the same time. The cylinder head was rotated 180⁰ to aid cooling by moving the exhaust to the front and the whole engine was slanted 18⁰ to lower the centre of gravity and better improve the handling.

This low mileage righthand drive Delta GT i.e. was owned by one family from new until this year. The mileage can be verified by a full folder of all old MoT test certificates and service invoices from new. The paint is all original and the interior is superb, the door cards even retain their plastic factory protection. We believe that no more than three of these Delta GT i.e. models remain on UK roads. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document and MoT test certificate valid until February 2016. Is there a more accessible way to finally fulfil those childhood Rally Driver dreams? We think not."

Tim,
I don't think power steering ever was an option as I remember looking into it when Diane couldn't manage the heavy steering on our HF Turbo, the only way was by fitting a rack from a Regatta, available on some models.

By coincidence I had a new set of tyres fitted to our French GTie locally last afternoon. I choose Uniroyal Rain expert 3 as I like this tyre on small cars. Well it was like having power steering -the difference between nearly worn out old Michelins and these new bits of rubber!!
I would have liked Dunlops but could not get my garage to source them, but am happy with Rainexperts in this hot part of France, as when it does rain it really rains. 250eu fitted for 4.

Quite good money, but it was rather nice, no doubt after everyone has had the premium fingers in the pie the late owner might be lucky to clear £4000.

And the new owner will have to consider the minor rust and mechanical recommissioning costs too....
