It looks great. And I agree it's the best colour for a Gamma  Grin Wink

Is this the same car as the original For Sale has been withdrawn, perhaps to advertise it here.

It has been offered for sale at several times recently, if it's been serviced regularly
and the belts have been changed it could be a good buy, although I'd think nearer
to £6 k would be sensible, after all it's a car that appeals to a limited number of
people.

I'd imagine you'd have to allow some contingency for making some of the mods recommended by the Consortium to prevent some of the Gamma's more alarming habits (most notably the rather unfortunate power steering on full lock and cambelt munching scenario...).  You might well need to change the tyres as well...

Too be honest Chris, I still run the original pumps off the camshaft on both of mine,
and they are probably the hardest driven Gammas in history.

I just park with the wheels in a straight line.

I agree with Geoff - ok, I'm drunk too. But now we know that Gammas aren't foolproof, then the PAS  / Cambelt problem isn't a major issue.

In the late 70's when Gamma SHOULD have been a foolproof everyday car like an SD1, Granada Ghia, 5-series, 604, Renault 30 etc, its "folibles" were a MAJOR problem. These days, we know the issues, we know what we can and can't get away with, on a Gamma and we can get round it. Make allowances for it. Geoff is right - a hard driven Gamma, well serviced and driven with a knowledge and degree of mechanical sympathy is a reliable, rewarding and fabulous car. I challenge you all even now to find a front wheel drive big saloon (or Coupe) that will put a bigger smile on your face!

I love Gamma!

Hey - what would be good is for one of the classic car magazines to pit a Gamma against, say, a Renault 30, Rover SD1, etc.

I love my Gamma, too.  Smiley

Week-end of the Bristol event, I shall be attempting the record for the fastest speed achieved in a Gamma
(on an AutoBahn heading to/from Stuttgart)

You want to take that flying one you've bought - wouldn't want traffic to hold you up Cheesy

I'm afraid it's been grounded, couldn't get an airworthiness certificate
besides which my pilots licence is only valid for Hurricanes.

Probably for the best - low level buzzing from a British Officer wouldn't be in the spirit of friendship.
