It used to, or maybe still does, belong to Dr. B. Milner in Edenbridge, Kent.  I have not seen it for a long time but it certainly was a very original car and from the pics doesn't look like it has changed much.

Here is a picture of it at the New Forest AGM in 1990 before it was rallyfied!

Interesting just how much lower it sits than the one next to it.

Does anyone have an "official" measurement S1 to II to III such as clearance under the sump or height to base of the screen - thinking about it just "height" would be interesting but the difference at the back always seems less marked.

This is one of the two cars which was used in the Deals On Wheels programme about 10 years ago (alongside my S2).  It had not been rallified at that point.

S2's and 3's are the same. S1's are between 30-35mm lower at the front and 20 mm lower at the back (about 30 mm on the 1.2 and 1.3 HF) according to the Data book.

My S2 1600HF was fitted with a S1 front spring to lower it by Evolution. It certainly is noticably lower than an S2 - so much so that I have fitted a sump guard as a precaution.

Lower profile tyres dont help in this regard either....
