well a big hello to all fellow Lancia owners/enthusiasts!!!
having Loved the marque for many years, only to watch it pull out of Ireland in 1994, i finally bought my first lancia last month. She's a 1991 Dedra 1.8 SE which i bought for €450! Now obviously for that sort of money she does need work done to her, eg brakes, exhaust, tyres, minor bodywork etc... but i reckon she has the makings of a great car once i'm finished!
I would like to take this oppertunity to thank Brian Hilton for all his advise & help (even before i became a member), but sadly Brian i fear i will have to bother you with many more questions! :-)
Just a bit about myself. I'm 30 years old, live in Longford Ireland with my wife Siobhan, and out two guinea pigs & rabbit. i work in accounts for a motor dealer at the moment in Dublin, but next month i move closer to home (as the commute is 2 hrs each way!). My car history is as follows...
1997-1998, 1984 Nissan Micra - i was told it'd be reliable, a new engine/exhaust later soon put paid to that! 1998-2001, 1998 Fiat Seicento SX, i needed to get rid of the Micra, so my local Fiat dealer sorted me out 2001 -2003, 2001 Fiat Brava SX, nice car but always felt like it was just about to fall apart, & had a clutch that never worked properly! 2003 -2004, 1996 Alfa 146 1.6 Boxer, needed the money & sold the Brava, i loved the 146, still miss her :-( 2004 - 2004, 1994 VW Vento - oh the shame of it all, the 25mpg 146 had to go as we moved to Longford from Dublin, the Vento was cheap but rubbish! 2004 - 2007 2001 Fiat Punto HLX, smashing little car, i did 35000 miles/year in mine & she never missed a beat, has 114000 miles on her at the moment & Siobhan now drives it 2005 - ?? 1991 Alfa 164 2.0 T-Spark, currently still have but am selling... 2007 - ??, 2005 Ford Mondeo LX Steel TDCI, for my commute it had to be a Mondeo, an absolute hoot to drive, plus 55mpg! 2007 - ??, 1991 Lancia Dedra 1.8 SE, my project, hope to have her on the road summer 2008.
